ThermiVa®: Non-Surgical Vaginal Rejuvenation in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County!
When it comes to gynecological issues, the effects that menopause, the natural aging process, and childbirth have on a woman's quality of life are profound. The change in external appearance can lead to self-consciousness in some women and make it uncomfortable to wear tight clothing. The internal functional changes can diminish sensation or even cause pain during intercourse, as well as lead to urinary incontinence among other pelvic health concerns.
At Chesapeake Women's Care we don't think that your sex life should become any less enjoyable as you age, and we definitely don't think that leaking urine while you laugh, cough, or sneeze is something you just have to live with! That's why we're proud to be the first Board Certified OB/GYN Group in Anne Arundel County to offer ThermiVa®!
ThermiVa® is a non-surgical treatment performed in the comfort and privacy of the Chesapeake Women's Care office. During the procedure a physician will pass the slim s-shaped wand along both the internal and external vaginal tissues delivering radiofrequency energy in the form of heat. The radiofrequency energy has been clinically proven to cause collagen contraction, which in turn leads to a rejuvenated (less-deflated) external appearance, and stimulates new collagen formation, alleviating many of the symptoms associated with an aging vagina.
Women who have had this procedure performed report that it is painless (it has often been described as a hot stone massage). Women really appreciate the fact that there is a completely non-hormonal solution, no post-treatment downtime, and that they can resume normal activity (including intimacy) right after the treatment!
ThermiVa® treatments are completely non-surgical and involve no cutting, stitches, or even anesthesia (unlike other vaginal rejuvenation treatments). The treatments have been reported to feel like a hot stone massage for the vagina.
- How Many Treatments Do I Need?
ThermiVa® is offered as a sequence of three (3) treatments spaced a month apart. To maintain best results and prevent symptoms from returning, we recommend scheduling a yearly 'maintenance' or touch-up treatment after the initial three treatments are completed.
- How Long Does the Procedure Take?
The time of the actual treatment will vary by patient and condition, but generally the procedure takes 30-40 minutes.
- Will my Insurance Cover ThermiVa® Treatments?
At this time insurance does not cover ThermiVa®, however, we do have financing options in place to help you find a payment option that will fit your budget.
