Chesapeake Women's Care P.A. - Annapolis, MD 21401

CORONAVIRUS UPDATES!!

Chesapeake Women’s Care is actively following the Coronavirus situation and takes the health and safety of its patients and team members seriously. We are following the guidance from the CDC and state and local authorities.

At this time, there is no indication that Coronavirus is more severe in pregnant patients, but the data is limited. We strongly advise you to follow the recommendations of local authorities regarding limiting exposure to large gatherings and travel restrictions. We are also encouraging our patients to maintain social distancing at this time, especially if you are pregnant, and to follow the strong recommendations from our local leaders to stay home if possible.

If you are pregnant and develop a high fever or respiratory symptoms, we encourage you to call your primary care provider or seek out evaluation at urgent care or the local emergency room if appropriate.  Other causes of fever, such as flu or strep throat, can be ruled out and then testing for COVID-19 can be done if deemed appropriate. Some urgent cares are overwhelmed. Please call before you go to make sure you can be seen in a timely fashion.  If you are not pregnant and only have mild symptoms, we recommend you remain at home and self-quarantine.

Please do NOT come to our office or Labor and Delivery if you think you are sick or if you have possibly been exposed!

  • If you have additional questions about symptoms or testing, please call the Anne Arundel County COVID-19 Warm Line (410)222-7256.
  • COVID-19 Archives
  • Coronavirus in Maryland
  • If you feel you are having an obstetrical emergency or are in labor in the setting of a fever or other symptoms, please call the on-call doctor to discuss the best course of action.

In line with recommendations from Anne Arundel Medical Center and Maryland State Medical Society, we will limit all ambulatory in-office appointments to routine prenatal care, patients with problems that likely require a physical exam and some follow ups for abnormal paps, colposcopy, IUD placements.

  • If you have an upcoming appointment in our office, the day before your appointment you will be contacted by our staff to determine if you should keep your appointment.  Most routine annual visits will be rescheduled.  If you are having a specific problem you would like to discuss with your provider, we can set up a telemedicine visit instead.
  • Our offices will remain open, but our hours may be reduced slightly.  We will continue to receive calls to triage the needs of patients and answer all requests and messages from patients.

Please note, Anne Arundel Medical Center has updated their visitor policy.

For the safety of our patients, visitors and staff, the following visitor restrictions are in effect at Anne Arundel Medical Center and all associated locations, including our office.

  • NO VISITORS, with a few exceptions, will be allowed until further notice.

  • Exceptions include:

    • Critical or end-of-life care situations

    • Caregiver of a patient 21 years of age or under

FYI:  Our Gambrills location will be closed during the Covid-19 crisis.  All patients will be seen in our Annapolis office.
